Ilkleyhood is a group of men, new to the Ilkley area, that meet up for a drink once a month. The monthly meeting dates are shown below.
Ilkleyhood is run by four of us who are fairly new to the area ourselves. We were finding that we were not meeting that many new people outside work – so we set up this group.
If you feel like you are new to the area, even if you have lived here for years, then feel free to come along to the next meeting. Anyone living or working in Ilkley, Burley in Wharfedale, Addingham or anywhere else nearby is very welcome.
As well as the monthly meetings we also organise the odd trip to see some lice music or comdey and there are some keen mountain bikers and runners in the group.
There is a similar organisation called Carousel which acts as a meeting point for women who have recently moved into the area. It was in fact Carousel that inspired us to set up Ilkleyhood. Their webiste is: www.carouselilkley.co.uk

Our monthly meetings are held on Tuesdays at 7:30pm in the Ilkley Moor Vaults pub. The dates for 2009 are:

Our meetings are very informal. In theory we stop at around 9pm - but most of us stay on till closing time.
